What is a Murano-style chandelier?
Murano-style chandeliers are inspired by the hand-blown glass tradition of Murano, Italy. They use colored or clear art glass shaped into leaves, flowers, ribbons or bowls. Dalmivik's designs are Murano-style: they follow that look but are not represented as glass made on Murano.
Choosing a Murano-style chandelier
- Color: clear and amber glass suit most rooms; bold color works as a focal point in a neutral space.
- Size: over a table, about one-half to two-thirds of the table width. In a room, add the length and width in feet for a starting diameter in inches.
- Hanging height: commonly 30 to 36 inches above the table with an 8-foot ceiling.
- Reflection: glass reflects light and color around the room; dimming helps control glare.
Care
