What makes a statement chandelier

A statement chandelier is the focal point of a room. It is large or sculptural enough to define the space even when it is switched off. This collection spans alabaster, marble, crystal, art glass and metal designs, from compact pieces for smaller dining rooms to large fixtures for foyers and great rooms.

Choose by room

  • Dining room: about one-half to two-thirds the table width, hung 30 to 36 inches above the table with an 8-foot ceiling. See Dining Room Chandeliers.
  • Foyer and stairwell: scale up for height and keep at least 7 feet of clearance. See High Ceiling Lighting.
  • Living room: center over the seating group or the room. See Living Room Lighting.

Choose by material

How big should a statement chandelier be?

Add the room length and width in feet; the sum in inches is a common starting diameter. Over a table, about one-half to two-thirds of the table width is common. Statement pieces often sit at the upper end of that range.

Can a statement chandelier work with a low ceiling?

Yes, if you choose a wider, shallower form or a semi-flush design and keep at least 7 feet of clearance in walkways. Our low-ceiling guide explains the options.

Are statement chandeliers dimmable?

Dalmivik fixtures are dimmable with compatible bulbs or drivers and a compatible wall dimmer, which an electrician should confirm.

How long does delivery take for a large chandelier?

Fixtures with any dimension over 39 inches ship as oversized freight and usually arrive in about 20 to 30 business days. Smaller fixtures usually arrive in about 10 to 20 business days.
